LISTS OF CENTRAL LABOUR SERVICE |
BRIEF ON CLS-I SECTION *************** Ø The
Central Labour Service was formed on 03.02.1987. Ø With
the 1st Cadre Review of CLS in October, 2004, the Central Labour Service
was constituted as an organised Group ‘A’ service with effect from 14.10.2004. Ø The
service has a sanctioned strength of 342 officers of which 136 posts are
under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
CLC© at the SAG level is the highest post in the cadre. Ø Of
the 342 posts 106 are in CIRM, 28 are under the Directorate General of Labour
Welfare, 2 in the Ministry of Labour and Employment and 206 under other
Ministries/Departments. Ø Transfer of officers are
effected normally in April-May. Normal tenure in a post is 4 years or 8 years
at a station .
Ø While
DPC for promotion to STS Grade in the PB-3 (Rs.15,600 -39100) with Grade Pay Rs.6600/- and for NFSG is
chaired by Secretary (L&E), DPC for other grades viz. JTS, JAG and SAG is
conducted by UPSC. Ø Appeals
are received against the orders of Regional Labour Commissioner (Central)
regarding classification of Railway employees under Railway Servants (Hours
of Work & period of Rest) Rules, 2005. Ø Grant
of Non-functional Upgradation in respect of Officers of CLS, a organized Group ’A’ Service in PB-3 & PB-4 viz-a-viz IAS officers
empanelled in various Grades at Centre in terms of DOP&T O.M. dated 24th April, 2009
& 10th
