1. Collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of information on various aspects of the female labour force in various economic sector. 2. Promotion of research, training, and welfare for advancement of the social and economic status of women, through a scheme of grant-in-aid to voluntary organizations.
3. Maintaining liaison with other concerned Governments and non-Government Agencies to secure the implementation of the programmes in respect of women workers.
4. Monitoring the implementation of the provisions of the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976.
5. Extension of Equal Remuneration Act to various employments/ industries.
6. Providing secretarial assistance to the Central Advisory Committee on Women Labour under the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 and other committees concerned with women labour.
7. Liaison with the National Commission for Women in respect of matters pertaining to women labour.
8. Follow up action on I.L.O. Conventions on Women Labour after their ratification by Government of India.
9. Follow up action on the judgement of Supreme Court on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at their workplace.
